Ehi!

Qualche evento?

Beh, sono on the road proprio adesso!

Andiamo! Travolgici con la tua Avalanche!

Today a new project will cross our lives, and not in a gentle way, and that is because… a new big release has been published with “The Avalanche”, the third studio album by Liz! Elizabeth Lawrence is an English singer-songwriter and guitarist, known for her solo work and for being half of electro-pop duo Cash+David.

First member of Stratford-upon-Avon-based band The Get Free during the 2000s, she then embarked on a solo career till nowadays. Following “The Avalanche” , Liz also releases the title track as a standalone single and will be supporting the album with an extensive run of UK dates that have just started.

Are we then ready to get caught by this new avalanche of Liz tracks? Let’s go with our interview.

Hi Liz. I’ve just listened to “The Avalanche”, and just to quote some songs title of your new album “Saturated”, “Down for fun”, “I’ll go on”… What’s the message behind?

Heya! I think what I’m talking about is how things fall apart and how to find redemption in dark places. It’s a record about living in the moment and taking some time to sit back and watch.

Liz, have you ever been compared to Florence Welsh and her sound? What’s your opinion about it?

That’s interesting! I’m not sure really I have actually, but one day I’d love to be compared to David Byrne (great Scottish-American producer and among many other achievements, he’s founder of the Talking Heads, not bad at all Liz! – Francesca).

Listening the full album “The Avalanche”, It also reminds me some echoes about Shirley Manson’s sound and her tracks from the Garbage. Go and listen both Liz  and Garbage tracks, and give your musical point of view! [ed.]

Listening to your album I’ve found many connections with some other music genres… So, what music influences did inspire you?

I think when I first started out, I listened to a lot of male fronted bands and now I think I listen to a lot more women. I wish I’d had music influences such as Hole and The Breeders in my record collection when I was a teenager.

Your songs actually remind me a lot of some recently tv series I have just watched. Have you ever received any proposal for tv series sound tracks?

In my opinion what happens to the song when it’s released is a different matter and TV syncs are a great way of getting your music out there. I don’t think it’s creative to think about money or how the finished song will be received when you’re in the process of making the work. However, one of my track from the album “Pity Party” , the “USP” was used on ‘Killing Eve’ series – a British spy thriller television series with characters such as Sandra Oh from Grey’s Anatomy – which was really cool.

What’s next? Some concerts or event in the near future?

Yeah I’m on the road right now (!) and it’s everything I’d hoped it to be and more. All being well, we’ll be on the road a lot over the next year and things can start to feel a bit more like living!

Well Liz, we cannot wish you more than to keep going on like now.  Go Liz! And overwhelm us with your music Avalanche!
