Between heartbreaks, honest reflections, and an eagerly awaited debut in Italy, LØLØ opens up about her music and her european tour.

Hey Lauren (LØLØ), thank you for your time and for answering our questions. How do you feel? From here in Italy, 2024 seemed to be a very good year for your artistic career. You released your first album and people seem always more welcoming you and your music through the years. What do u expect from this 2025?

Of course! 🙂 happy to chat! I’m feeling pretty good- I’m currently in writing mode writing my new album, so that’s been fun and interesting and challenging !! Personally, pretty good. Some days are better than others of course. Sometimes I’m having fun and sometimes I’m struggling but I think that’s all part of the process. I hope 2025 will bring a lot of new inspiration and opportunities!

You always try to channel bad emotions and bad feelings into something beautiful such as music. This is clearly a provocation, but do you think that new generations are somehow inclined to be less positive and hopeless? Or do they just “feel” and embrace who they really are no matter what?

I would definitely agree! I think back in the day people would hide things a lot and just pretend to be okay and try to really come off as “perfect”. It wasn’t necessarily normal to be “not okay”. But these days, I feel like darker feelings and mental health in general is spoken about a lot more, so people feel safer to talk about it and don’t strive to be so perfect all the time.

Now a question from your album. I think it’s well crafted, it has a good flow, but i was personally curious about one song: “DON’T”. There was a day after you released it which i listened to it like 10 times in a row (it happens sometimes with some songs for a motivation or another). Why did you release it just in the deluxe edition, was it going to be left out from the project or did it just came after so that was a natural process?

Haha wow I love that!!! Thank you so much 🙂 Yeah, I had the rough idea in my notes for a while but I never quite nailed it while writing the album. I finally wrote it only after the album was already finished and ready to go so I couldn’t include it in time, but I knew it felt like it was in the same world. So I’m really happy I ended up doing a deluxe album so I could still include it!

From your songs it seems that you root for bad boys ahahah, or better you had a lot of times your heart broken. Do you think that is there any hope for romantic and simple people out there to find true love, if it exists?

I would like to think there is still hope! I don’t write about the “good guys” enough and I think I should, because I’ve definitely had my fair share of those as well, but I think I ended up self sabotaging. Perhaps for the plot/for a good song haha. So yes, I do think there is hope but I think you just need to find the right person and also be in the right headspace to accept that love.

I saw that you are going to play in the (finally) back “Warped tour”. For the fans of “those genres” it has always been a music compass to see new bands and appreciate some colossus playing in it. How do you feel about this opportunity knowing what it represents for fans and also for artists?

I’m so excited. It means so much! I know how important it is in the scene and I’m truly honoured to be included. I wasn’t sure if I was going to get the call or not — I wasn’t sure if I was cool enough for Warped Tour haha…so I’m glad that I am! I’m definitely very intimidated by the line up because it’s filled with a lot of bands and artist that I really really love and respect.

For your first and debut album u chose to not have featuring, what about this choice? Since we’re italian, we wanted to ask if is there any italian artists who inspired you somehow, even a little, during your life and career. International collaborations are growing these years so one day would u like to collaborate with some Italian artists?

Honestly, I didn’t do features just because I felt like none of the songs called for it. I would love to collaborate on songs in the future though, especially with Italian artists! I love working with artists from around the world. Actually my song DON’T! almost had a collaborator on it, but the timing just wasn’t right for the people I wanted, so I decided it would be better to just have it be solo. And yes, I really love Måneskin! I think they are so talented and special. I saw them live once and my jaw was literally on the floor! I was in shock.

You are going to play in Milan 10th June, many artists passed through Italy to be “blessed” in their career path, what does it mean to play in Italy, but also touring in Europe outside from your “comfort zone”?

I am SOOOOO excited to come to Milan — I’ve never ever been to Italy so this will be my first time! It’s been at the very top of my bucket list!! So it’s the #1 show I’m looking forward to coming up. Touring across Europe is always the most fun— I just find the fan culture is so amazing in Europe, you can tell that people are truly fans of music.

Per i biglietti del concerto a Milano.
