DUSTIN (더스틴) is a K-POP boy group under NA ENTERTAINMENT, which debuted on January 6th, 2020 with the single “Burn”. The members of the group are Alex, Raphael, Daon, Seunggi, Lake and Siu. They recently came back with their new single-album “Blacklist”, so we interviewed them for you!

Hello DUSTIN! Welcome to The Soundcheck, my name is Morena, thank you for joining me in this interview. Can you please introduce yourselves?

Hello, we are Dustin, a K-pop group which debuted on January 6th 2020. Dustin means “brave warrior” in ancient German and implies our ambition to become K-pop warriors. We came back to you with our 2nd album Crazy on September 3rd 2022, and now we’re back with our 3rd album “BLACKLIST” on June 1st 2023; we’re active in music shows and other activities.

How did you prepare for your comeback?

While practicing choreography and singing, I tried to make up for what I lacked in the 2nd album. Besides that, we prepared a lot for our comeback including diet, skincare, and style change.

Can you tell us more about “Blacklist”?

The song is not about lovers, it’s about being in this world while fighting against everything about oppression and coercion on the blacklist.

What or who is your biggest inspiration?

These days, it is popular to compose, write, and create coreographies on your own, so I didn’t designate anyone in particular, but I was still inspired by many talented artists.

What is the best thing about DUSTIN?

The word that comes to mind when we think of Dustin, is teamwork. Of course, Korean members also have to coordinate with each other, but some of them are from Japan and Brazil, so it was difficult to communicate with each other because of culture and language differences at first, but now we can understand what they are thinking just by looking at each other’s eyes, just like family. We think that’s why the fans like and support us more, because they can see that on stage.

Is there any concept in particular you would like to try in the future?

We had a dark mood until the 3rd album, so we’d like to do a bright song next time. Cute, lovely, refreshing, and so on.

What’s next for DUSTIN?

We hope that we can continue to do activities through music programs and overseas tours, there are many things we are planning.

Last question, do you want to say anything to your italian fans?

First of all, thank you for your support and interest. We would like to go to Italy through this interview.
