Nella serata di ieri a Santa Monica si sono tenuti i Critics Choice Awards. Anora vince come miglior film, mentre Demi Moore bissa la vittoria, dopo il Golden Globe, e punta all’Oscar. Premiati anche Wicked, Conclave, Challengers ed Emilia Perez. Tra le serie continua il dominio di Shogun e Hacks.
Archiviati i Golden Globes, primo grande appuntamento della stagione dei premi, è stata la volta dei Critics Choice Awards, che si sono tenuti nella serata di ieri al Barker Hangar di Santa Monica.
La 30esima edizione dei Critics Choice Awards, posticipata a causa degli incendi e condotta da Chelsea Handler, ha visto trionfare come Miglior film Anora di Sean Baker, Palma d’Oro all’ultima edizione di Cannes e candidato a 6 premi Oscar (clicca qui per le nomination complete). Jon M. Chu si aggiudica il premio per la miglior regia di Wicked, che si porta a casa anche le statuette per la miglior scenografia e i migliori costumi.
Nella settimana delle polemiche che hanno sommerso Karla Sofia Gascon e alcuni suoi vecchi tweet razzisti, Demi Moore trionfa come miglior attrice per la sua interpretazione in The Substance di Coralie Fargeat. Proprio la regista francese vince il Critics Choice Award per la migliore sceneggiatura originale, avendo la meglio su film come Anora, The Brutalist e Challengers.
Il film monumentale di Brady Corbet, girato in 70mm VistaVision, porta a casa solo un riconoscimento, quello per il miglior attore a Adrien Brody che, dopo il Golden Globe, continua ad avere la meglio sul Bob Dylan di Timothée Chalamet. Il film di Luca Guadagnino invece, snobbato clamorosamente dall’Academy, si aggiudica i premi per il miglior montaggio e per la straordinaria colonna sonora, firmata Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross.
Emilia Perez continua a fare incetta di premi, ottenendo il Critcs Choice Award per il miglior film non in lingua inglese. Festeggia anche Zoe Saldaña come miglior attrice non protagonista, battendo Ariana Grande e la nostra Isabella Rossellini, candidata per Conclave. Il film di Edward Berger ha la meglio nelle categorie di “miglior sceneggiatura non originale” e “miglior cast corale”.
Sul versante televisivo continuano a fare la voce grossa Shogun, tra le serie drammatiche, e Hacks, tra quelle comiche. Vincono anche Adam Brody per la sua prova in Nobody Wants This, Cristin Milioti e Colin Farrell per The Penguin, Liev Schreiber per The Perfect Couple e Jessica Gunning per Baby Reindeer. Niente da fare, invece, per L’amica geniale e La legge di Lidia poet, battute da Squid Game come miglior serie non in lingua inglese.
