In this interview, we will dive into the musical universe of Sadraddin. Since his debut in 2020, this young and talented artist captured the audience’s attention with a fresh and vibrant sound that masterfully blends traditional Kazakh folklore with contemporary musical influences.

Sadraddin has become a significant voice in Kazakh music, inspiring emerging artists both in Kazakhstan and abroad with his unique and passionate approach to creativity. During this interview, we will discuss Sadraddin’s career, his musical influences, and his meaningful message for fans.

Hello Sadraddin, my name is Morena. Thank you for taking the time to join me for this interview. Your music blends traditional Kazakh folk with modern pop, how do balance these two genres?

For me, music is a form of expression of the soul. I grew up on traditional melodies, and they are embedded deep within me. At the same time, I want to stay relevant and create music that is close to people today.

Your music videos are visually captivating and have a cinematic quality. But both “ Jauap bar ma” and “ Melodrama beautifully showcase everyday life through scenes depicting people and their interactions. Can you share the creative process behind the making of these videos?

Each music video is a visual interpretation of a song. I work closely with the directors to create not just a video sequence, but a story that the viewer can feel. In “Jauap bar ma” and “Melodrama” we wanted to show moments from people’s lives, their joy and pain, so that everyone can see themselves in these stories.

In the song “Taxi” you mention a “happy place” during childhood. Which is the happy place you’d like to go back to, and what specific memories come to mind from that time?

My happy place is my grandparents’ house. They always had a special atmosphere when the whole family gathered around one table and there was an incredible warmth. I still cherish those moments in my heart.

Talking about the past, how did you experience your debut in 2020, considering the difficulties related to the pandemic?

This time taught me to adapt and find new ways to express myself. I worked hard on new material and found ways to interact with fans through social media.

You recently sold out your solo concert in Almaty, congratulations! Can you describe a particularly memorable moment from one of your performances?

At a concert in Almaty recently, when I went on stage and heard thousands of people singing every line with me, it was incredible. It was a moment of unity with the audience, when we were all breathing in the same rhythm.

Do you have any other passion or hobby regardless of music?

I play a few musical instruments such as guitar and piano. It helps me to express my emotions and inspires me to write new songs.

I’m curious to know, what is your favourite Kazakh dish that you would recommend trying, and if there’s an Italian dish you’d like to try?

I really love pilaf, it’s always hearty and delicious! And from Italian cuisine I would like to try lasagna; it looks just amazing.

If you could collaborate with any artist, past or present, who would it be and why?

I would love to work with The Weeknd. His talent and ability to tell stories through music inspires me and I think we could create something unique together.

Finally, what message would you like to share with your fans?

I want to say that music is the universal language that connects us. Play your instruments and follow your dreams, because that’s where the real magic is and remember that your support gives me the strength to create!
